Adam’s Peak

We started our climb in the pouring rain at 2.30am. Soaked to the bones and singing our way to the peak, we were greeted with a blank view of the clouds (unliked the promised views).

Underwhelmed and wet, we made our decent. The clouds parted as the sun rose, revealing several waterfalls around us. Fed by the heavy downpour the night before, the waterfalls boldly ran down the mountainsides as the fog slowly lifted. It was like watching a prehistoric/mystic land slowly unveil itself before us. It was all worth it.

Train Ride to Ella

We took a train from the hill countries to the small town of Ella. Watching the tea plantations fade into dusk was therapeutic to say the least. The small lights in the distance dotted the hillsides: like multicoloured stars blinking in the dark.

Travelogue: Sri Lanka

Climbing in the rain, stargazing, summer safaris, mountain tea factory/gallery, the most quaint hillside graveyard, frolicking in the waves, ayurvedic spice shopping spree, waterfall hunting, more climbing, curd, train rides, lazing for hours on the beach…what an adventure.

More pics soon.

Lovely write-up on Mutantspace about my photographs.

"What makes these pictures beautiful are that they see things in a new way, they refresh us, obliterate our apathy and renew our faith in the ordinary."
